Star Trek writer Robert Orci has confirmed that the movie’s sequel finally has a story.
The script to JJ Abrams‘ sequel to his hit reboot has been in development for over two years. But now the space-faring title has moved on a stage.
Orci confirmed the news while talking to Trekmovie.com. He said: “Just waiting for JJ to be free to really decide if he likes the story and hear his suggestions before we finish the script.”
He added that as it stands, the working script is 70 pages long but has yet to be seen by Abrams, who is currently readying the release of his much-hyped Super 8.
The Star Trek franchise was rebooted in 2009 with an origin story recasting Chris Pine as Captain Kirk and Zacahary Quinto as Spock. The sequel is scheduled for release next year.
