The rapper has no time for Georgia Steel’s latest antics
Stormzy had fans in hysterics last night with his hilarious commentary to Friday evening’s Love Island (6 July).
The ‘Gang Signs & Prayer’ rapper took to Instagram stories to comment on the show’s latest drama and revealed he had no time for some of the contestant’s actions.
Commenting on the ongoing love triangle between Georgia Steel, Laura Anderson and newcomer Jack Fowler, Stormzy branded 20-year-old Steel a “liar” and told her to “shut up” after she repeatedly denied she instigated a kiss with Jack, who is currently coupled up with Laura.
When Dani Dyer, daughter of Eastenders actor Danny Dyer and fan favourite, tried to defend Georgia, Stormzy shouted, “Stay out of this!”
His commentary didn’t stop there. After posting a clip of controversial character Megan Barton Hanson, he added “Shut up,” once more.
Delighted fans tweeted clips of Stormzy’s commentary and said they loved the rapper’s input.
It’s not the first time Stormzy has shared his opinions on Love Island. His comments during last year’s show were read out to contestants after he tweeted that Chris Hughes “deserves better” than Olivia Attwood, who he was coupled up with.
Earlier this week, Stormzy proved that even his own #Merky festival set couldn’t stop him missing England’s penalty shootout against Colombia. The rapper shared a clip of him stopping his own show to watch the penalties, before storming straight into ‘Big For Your Boots’ when Eric Dier scored the winning goal for England.
The rapper recently announced his collaboration with Penguin Random House to launch #Merky Books, a new publishing imprint that aims to offer a platform to young authors.
Stormzy also gave an update on his second album on the carpet of the Ivor Novello Awards – where he lead the winners – stating, “I’m working on my second album now. It’s going really well, I’d like to think.”
