Although the Matt Berninger-fronted band debuted the songs last week, no footage of the new material emerged. Now, recordings from a show at Šalata in Zagreb, Croatia have given fans an insight into what to expect from the new LP.
The show opened with ‘Quiet Light’ before the group performed slow-burner ‘So Far, So Fast’.
Back in April, the Cincinnati outfit aired another new song, titled ‘Light Years’.
Speaking to NME earlier this year, Matt Berninger shed some light on their upcoming LP. “We’ve been in the studio. We’ve been recording wherever we go,” he said. “We had a bunch of stuff that we just recorded in Buenos Aires when we were in South America just because we had a day or
been constantly just writing.”
Speaking of when we could hear the new tunes, Berninger added: “I don’t know what form or when this next album is going to come out, but we’ve been doing some other really interesting collaborations with people too. It’s all way more than halfway done.”
The National’s last album, ‘Sleep Well Beast‘ was released in 2017 and marked the band’s most successful period to date. The record gained them a Grammy and a UK No. 1.
