Tom Cruise closes off Trafalgar Square for new movie

Iconic landmark completely cleared so actor can land in an RAF Helicopter

London’s Trafalgar Square was closed off yesterday morning (November 25) for Tom Cruise and his new movie.

The iconic landmark was completely cleared so that the actor could touch down in an RAF Helicopter. He was shooting a scene for his new movie All You Need Is Kill.

Cruise emerged from the helicopter dressed in full military uniform and filmed further scenes marching round the square. He was joined by the film’s crew, a large cast of extras and several army tanks.

All You Need Is Kill is a sci-fi film based on an acclaimed Japanese novel of the same name. It stars Cruise as a soldier fighting in a war with aliens who becomes caught in a time loop, which dooms him to relive the battle’s final day over and over again. Emily Blunt and Bill Paxton co-star.

All You Need Is Kill has been scheduled for release on March 14, 2014. Before then, Cruise will be seen in eagerly-anticipated action thriller Jack Reacher, which opens in cinemas on December 21, 2012. Scroll down to watch the trailer.
