Turns out Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren was almost bald in ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’

Alternate art shows Driver's character with a very different (lack of) hair style.

Movies usually go through many incarnations during their making and it turns out ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ is no different.

Early stages of films usually involve a lot of concept art, much of it about what characters will look like.

Recently surfaced concept artwork from the ‘The Last Jedi’ shows two characters from the film who almost had radically different looks, starting with Adam Driver’s character, Kylo Ren.

The image – from book ‘The Art of Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ which illustrates the movie’s creative process – was posted on Twitter by a fan account.

The artwork suggests that the film’s creators had plans for Ren to undergo a drastic follicle transformation, but the ‘The Last Jedi”s end result shows they stuck with his trademark hair.

The image also shows him in a cape instead of his regular hooded attire.

Images from the book also shows the porgs with an altogether different look – emblazoned with vibrant colour, instead of their current neutral tones.

The porgs divided opinion when they made their debut in the film’s trailer – even John Boyega said he was initially freaked out by them – but Luke Skywalker himself AKA Mark Hamill responded to criticism by trolling the haters with epic memes.

It wasn’t all negativity towards the puffin-like creatures though – some fans said they wanted to eat them.

‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ achieved the second-highest ever opening weekend box office sales, beaten only by predecessor ‘The Force Awakens’.

Director Rian Johnson dedicated the film’s premiere to its actress, the late Carrie Fisher, and heartbreakingly, her dog Gary even recognised her when he watched the movie on its opening night.

Despite critical acclaim, many fans have expressed disappointment in the latest instalment, even suggesting that it should be deleted and re-made.

Meanwhile, this eerie face swap proves that Adam Driver and fellow actor Keanu Reeves are basically the same person.

Driver recently revealed a sage piece of advice that Carrie Fisher gave him while promoting ‘Star Wars’ at Comic Con.

He’s also admitted that he has no idea what the word ’emo’ means – despite Kylo Ren’s status as an emo icon.
