Brad Pitt offered a huge $120,000 to watch an episode of Game of Thrones with star Emilia Clarke – but he was outbid.
A silent auction took place during Sean Penn’s annual Haiti gala in LA last night (January 6), with a special screening of the hit HBO show on offer to the highest bidder. Those in attendance included Hollywood heavyweights Arnold Schwarzenegger and Leonardo DiCaprio.
According to Variety, the auction started at $20,000 (£15,000), before Pitt put his first offer of $80,000 (£59,000) on the table – which he then upped to $90,000 (£66,000).
After the auctioneer called “Is the King of the North here?!”, Game of Thrones star Kit Harrington returned from a toilet break and also offered to sit in on the prize screening. Pitt then took his bid to the next level, offering a massive $120,000.
However, the actor was then outbid by an unknown attendee – who was prepared to fork-out $160,000 to watch the episode with two of the show’s biggest stars.
It’s not happening anytime soon though, with the show not returning for season 8 until 2019. “Send a raven. #GameofThrones returns to @HBO for its eighth and final season in 2019,” a tweet from the official GoT Twitter recently confirmed.
Featuring the likes of Jon Snow, Arya Stark and Tyrion Lannister, the ten character-featuring stamps are joined by five more stamps which are adorned by the likes of The Night King and the White Walkers – as well as the Iron Throne itself.
