It will arrive on DC's new streaming service next year
A new ‘adult’ animated series based around Harley Quinn is said to be in the works.
As Deadline reports, Warner Bros. has ordered a 26-episode first season of the new animated show, which will be targeted towards adults. In keeping with the success of Suicide Squad, it is said that producers are hoping that Margot Robbie will return to voice the character.
Telling the story of Quinn, the psychiatrist who falls madly in love with The Joker, the series will also feature a major role for Poison Ivy. The series is reportedly being produced by Powerless executive producers Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker, along with Dean Lorey of Warner Bros. Animation.

Elsewhere, ‘Suicide Squad 2′ is being fast-tracked by Warner Bros. With a separate film about Harley Quinn and The Joker having also been announced, Warner Bros. are said to to be intent on releasing Suicide Squad 2 as quickly as possible. 2018 has been provisionally set as a starting date for filming.
Meanwhile, another new movie about The Joker’s origin story is set to go into production in the very near future, with legendary director Martin Scorsese helming the role of executive producer.
