Here’s the first picture of Al Pacino as Phil Spector.
Decked out in snappy waistcoat and tinted sunglasses, Pacino dons a wig to emulate the producer, famous for creating the ‘Wall Of Sound’ and producing many classic albums.
His musical history has since been overshadowed, however, as Spector is currently serving 19 years in jail for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson.
As reported by IndieWire, the TV film is said to focus on the relationship between Spector and his defense attorney Linda Kenney Baden.
The HBO film has been written by legendary playwright, David Mamet. Mamet has worked with Pacino before, on Glengarry Glen Ross.
The biopic marks the third HBO collaboration with Pacino after the award-winning mini-series Angels in America, and the TV movie You Don’t Know Jack. Pacino received Golden Globe and Emmy awards for roles in both.
Al Pacino will next be seen in crime drama Son Of No One, before going on to play King Lear for Michael Radford.
