Alan Partridge confirmed to return in 2016 for new series of ‘Mid Morning Matters’

The second series will air on Sky Atlantic in February

Alan Partridge’s Mid Morning Matters is to return for a second series in 2016.

The series, which first aired on Sky in 2012, will be once again written by Steve Coogan alongside Neil Gibbons and Rob Gibbons.

Writer Neil Gibbons recently confirmed on Twitter that the second series will premiere in February of next year.

Coogan, in the character of Partridge, previously said of the show’s return: “I am both thrilled, humbled, gladdened and excited to be bringing Mid Morning Matters back to Sky Atlantic.”

“I expect those who doubted its success feel suitably chastened to never again doubt the wisdom of my career choices and to say nothing in response unless their comments are wholly supportive and positive. I hope I’ve made myself clear… thank you, let’s leave it there.”

Meanwhile, a sequel to Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa is in the works, according to the film’s producer. Henry Normal recently revealed that there are plans to release a follow-up Partridge film, which was released in 2013.
