Murphy says Gaga turned up to shoot the scene with "a Band-Aid on her hoo-ha"
American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy has praised Lady Gaga again, revealing that she committed fully to a potentially awkward recent scene.
Gaga started shooting her part on the anthology series’ latest instalment, American Horror Story: Hotel, on August 10. She has been cast as a wealthy and stylish hotel owner called Elizabeth in what is her first major TV acting role.
“She’s the only actress I think I’ve worked with who wanted to do more explicit stuff than was written,” Murphy said during a new interview with Entertainment Weekly. “You write a foursome for her and you expect a lot of questions. She never did that.”
“She showed up and she was wearing diamond pasties, a Band-Aid on her hoo-ha, heels, and a black veil that Alexander McQueen made for her on the day before his death. Then the crew gasped in delight and we were off!”
Gaga is joined by an impressive company of castmates in American Horror Story: Hotel, including Kathy Bates, Chloë Sevigny, Matt Bomer, Emma Roberts, Cheyenne Jackson, Wes Bentley, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Finn Wittrock, Naomi Campbell and Max Greenfield.
She recently threw a special midnight pool party for her castmates, which involved Gaga dyeing the water in her swimming pool bright red.
Murphy has recently said of Gaga’s character in the series: “She owns the hotel and she is sort of a very wealthy social doyenne who is consumed with art and fashion and people. She has a nefarious plan that is revealed in the first episode that plays out over the course of the season.” The series is set to premiere on FX in October.
