But she says she will not be appearing in 'Iron Man 3'
Scarlett Johansson has called for a solo movie for her Avengers Assemble character Black Widow, but says she is not appearing in Iron Man 3.
The star made her Marvel debut in the second Iron Man movie, and appears again in the superhero mash-up. But despite reports to the contrary, she said she would not be coming back for Robert Downey Jr‘s third solo outing.
However, she did say that she has been talking to Marvel producer Kevin Fiege about a Black Widow movie inspired by the Bourne franchise.
Johansson told ScreenRant: “I personally think there’s an awesome Black Widow movie [to be made]. A Bourne type of film that would take the comic book genre in a completely different direction. It would be awesome. I’ve spoken to Marvel about it, there’s so much story there to draw from.”
Of her intense training regime to get into character, she added: “Do I want to spend another three months shedding the manatee skin and getting back into that suit? Not necessarily, but it’s all worth it in the end.”
Avengers Assemble opens in the UK this weekend. Watch the trailer below.
