75-minute special starring Matt Smith and David Tennant is set to air on November 23
The BBC has released a pair of teaser clips for Doctor Who‘s forthcoming 50th anniversary special .
The first teaser introduces the hashtag #SAVETHEDAY while a voiceover from Matt Smith recites the title of the birthday episode: The Day Of The Doctor.” Watch it below.
The second teaser spotlights the date of the anniversary special – November 23, 2013 – to the familiar sound of the Doctor Who theme tune. Watch it below.
Meanwhile, the BBC has confirmed that a trailer for the anniversary special is currently in post-production and coming very soon. The trailer has apparently been “specially written and shot for The Day Of The Doctor” and is described as “bold, brilliant and unexpected”.
Earlier this month (September), the BBC revealed the title of the anniversary special and confirmed it will have an extra-long running time of 75 minutes. The show’s current stars Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman will be joined for the episode by popular former Timelord and companion David Tennant and Billie Piper, as well as by John Hurt.

The Day Of The Doctor will mark Smith’s penultimate appearance as the Doctor before he regenerates into Peter Capaldi‘s new Timelord in this year’s Christmas special.
