Beavis & Butthead and King Of The Hill could be set to make a comeback, after co-creator Mike Judge admitted that he’s considered reviving the cult animated series.
Speaking to Rotten Tomatoes, Judge claimed that a King of The Hill revival could be on the cards – although it is likely to focus on the Hill family at a later stage in their lives.
“It would have to have a passage of time,” Judge said.
“People have grown up. I think The Simpsons are so iconic just the way they’re drawn, you can keep Bart that same age for 60 years.
“Our characters, it was starting to strain a little bit to have Bobby still be that age for that long.”
And when it comes to a Beavis & Butthead revival, Judge revealed that he recently discussed the prospect of resurrecting the delinquent teens for a new movie.
“That’s possible too. It came up two months ago. It’s just a matter of coming up with an idea that feels like it’s worth doing”, Judge admitted.
“They’ve talked about a movie possibly.”
The possibility of a revival was also touted last year by Fox CEO Dana Walden.
“We had a very preliminary conversation given what’s going on in the country, they had a point of view about how those characters would respond,” she said.
“But again, it was one meeting and I hope to revisit it. The meeting was probably two and a half months ago.
“They’re both very busy and it was really just a first exploratory, ‘Are you excited about this? Is there potential in that future?’ And they were both excited about it but they’re working on a lot of different things individually, so it’s about finding time.”
