Bill Cosby thanks fans for support following arrest

Cosby faces sexual assault charge dating back to alleged incident in 2004

Bill Cosby has thanked his fans following his arrest on a sexual assault charge.

The message simply says, “Friends and fans, Thank You.” It was sent on New Year’s Eve from Cosby’s Twitter account.

Cosby was charged this week with the first criminal case he will face following numerous sexual assault claims made public in 2015.

The comedian is charged with drugging and sexually assaulting a woman in 2004 inside his home near Philadelphia.

To date, Cosby has been accused by 54 women of sexual misconduct. Most fall outside the statutes of limitations for legal proceedings.

Cosby also faces a defamation lawsuit brought by three women who claim he abused them, plus a suit filed by a model who alleges he drugged and sexually assaulted her.

Cosby is also being sued by model and reality TV star Janice Dickinson for sexual assault.
