‘Black Mirror’ comes to life as ‘Bandersnatch’ pop-up appears at London’s Old Street station

This is exciting...

A pop-up store inspired by the Black Mirror movie Bandersnatch has appeared at London’s Old Street tube station.

The shop, named Tucker’s Newsagent and Games was first spotted yesterday (January 2), before the shutters were lifted this morning to reveal the whole display.

An initial glimpse reveals that the 80s themed store is decked out with promotional materials for some of the Tuckersoft games that feature in the Netflix film – including Valdack’s Revenge, Nohzdyve and the titular Bandersnatch.

There’s also subtle references to other Black Mirror offerings too, including the acclaimed San Junipero and 2017’s USS Callister.

However, there’s the small matter of a ‘Be Right Back’ sign that hangs on the window – meaning that fans will have to admire the faithful recreation from the outside.

The latest Black Mirror development in the capital comes after a creepy Bandersnatch poster was spotted on the tube.

The poster, spotted by a Twitter user, reads: “In another reality you didn’t notice this poster. “Your decision to stop here and read it has resulted in a divergent of time paths on the cosmic flowchart.”

Last night, Black Mirror star Will Poulter also announced that he was leaving Twitter after facing a mixture of responses to his stint in Bandersnatch.

“As we all know there is a balance to be struck in our engagements with social media,” said Poulter. “There are positives to enjoy and inevitable negatives that are best avoided. It’s a balance I have struggled with for a while now and in the interest of my mental health I feel the time has come to change my relationship with social media.”
