Sacha Baron Cohen’s alter ego Borat made his return to TV last night, visiting an LA neighbourhood for a dose of “election tampering”. Check out the video below.
The character appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where he spoke to US citizens amid the historic 2018 election. “Russia interfere with the presidential election,” the ‘reporter’ said. “But now, all eyes are on them.
“So, it’s up to Kazakhstan to swing the midterms for Premier Trump. I come to California to do election tampering.”
While speaking to MAGA supporters, one person discussed Trump keeping migrant Mexican children in cages. “Cage for them is nicest place [they’ve] ever been,” Borat replied.
In response, the woman said: “It was like a campout — he fed them three times a day like his own children, because he’s a humanitarian.”
Another explained: “In my opinion, the fake news people say [Trump] is a racist and I don’t believe he is and I don’t see any evidence of that.”
In a typically Borat-style reply, the comedian said: “I’m racist — it’s nice.”
Later in the clip, Borat is seen placing bacon on the street in front of a Jewish voter. “You shall not pass,” he shouted.
Meanwhile, the former Bohemian Rhapsody director recently said that Sacha Baron Cohen’s portrayal of Freddie Mercury would have been “outrageous”.
