Acclaimed drama starring Claire Danes and Damian Lewis returns to Channel next month (October)
Channel 4 has released a new trailer for the forthcoming third season of Homeland. Watch it below.
The minute-long teaser promises the new season is “coming soon on 4” and the channel’s YouTube page confirms the show “returns to Sundays in October”. However, Channel 4 has yet to announce exactly when it will start showing Homeland‘s next batch of 12 episodes.
In the US, season three gets underway this Sunday (September 29) on premium cable network Showtime. However, an unfinished version of the opening episode actually leaked nearly a month early and within hours had been downloaded over 100,000 times.
Showtime has recently released a plot synopsis for the new season of its popular drama, which reads: “Homeland season three opens during the aftermath of the horrific terror attack that decimated the US intelligence apparatus, and prompted a global manhunt for the world’s most wanted terrorist – Nick Brody (Damian Lewis).
“As Carrie (Claire Danes) and Saul (Mandy Patinkin) begin to pick up the pieces of their shattered professional and personal lives, they are swept up in the political and media firestorm surrounding the terror attack and the subsequent search for Brody’s whereabouts.”
Since debuting in 2011, Homeland has been a hit with TV critics as well as viewers. The show lost out on the ‘Outstanding Drama Series’ prize at the Emmy Awards this Sunday (September 22) to Breaking Bad but Danes took home the trophy for ‘Actress In A Drama Series’.
