The new series of HBO comedy, Curb Your Enthusiasm, has drawn in viewing figures of 2.1 million over two showings on Sunday.
According to Hollywood Reporter, the first show was watched by 1.7 million, while the midnight repeat was viewed by 400,000 more.
The new episode also received rave reviews from all corners of the American press with The Wall Street Journal stating, “Every season of Curb Your Enthusiasm has been a testament to Mr. David‘s ingenious blend of high wit and low comedy. This one will be no exception.”
The first episode saw Larry making life difficult for himself thanks to confrontations with girl scouts, his ex-wife, the owner of the LA Dodgers and his non-Jewish lawyer.Curb regulars, including Larry‘s manager Jeff and his friend Marty Funkhouser, returned for the season opener along with Leon Black.
The location for the comedy is set to switch from Los Angeles to New York with Larry set to face a host of new faces, including Michael J. Fox and Ricky Gervais.
It is unknown whether the new series of Curb Your Enthusiasm will air first on Sky Atlantic or MoreFour in the UK.
