Dara Ó Briain and Angela Scanlon to host BBC’s new ‘Robot Wars’ series

BBC Two has also revealed the show's new logo and a 30-second teaser clip

Dara Ó Briain and Angela Scanlon are to host the new series of Robot Wars.

BBC Two made the announcement on Twitter earlier this morning (February 3) while also confirming that Jonathan Pearce will return as commentator. The channel then shared the show’s new logo and a 30-second teaser for the forthcoming series.

The BBC announced last month (January) that is reviving Robot Wars. The cult tech game show will return to BBC Two later this year for six hour-long episodes filmed in a purpose-built arena in Glasgow which is described as “literally bullet-proof”.

Robot Wars, which sees home-made robots go head-to-head in a knock-out competition, originally ran on BBC Two and then BBC Choice from 1998 to 2003. Channel 5 then picked it up for a final season which ended in 2004.

Dara Ó Briain and Angela Scanlon will take over hosting duties from Craig Charles, who presented Robot Wars from 1998 to 2004. Other presenters who worked on the show during his initial run included Philippa Forrester, Julia Reed and Jayne Middlemiss.
