David Mitchell and Robert Webb finish filming last ever series of ‘Peep Show’ today

The ninth and final series is expected to air on Channel 4 later this year

David Mitchell and Robert Webb will finish shooting the final series of Peep Show today.

Webb tweeted this morning to tell fans that he was already feeling emotional about the end of the long-running sitcom about Croydon flatmates Jez and Mark.

Channel 4 has yet to announce when the ninth and final series of Peep Show will air, but it is expected to be later this year. Mitchell confirmed last week that Olivia Colman’s character, Sophie, who did not appear in series eight, will be returning for the final series when he tweeted a picture of the actress’s last day on set.

Although series nine is designed as Peep Show‘s finale, the show’s creators Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong haven’t ruled out bringing back Jez and Mark in the future. Bain told the Radio Times last year: “We don’t plan to kill them off so the opportunity to do more would be there if we chose to.”
