It looks like Donald Glover didn’t dress up as Atlanta’s white villain Teddy Perkins at the 2018 Emmys, after all

Wait, what? Who was it then?

Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino, was in attendance at last night’s Emmy Awards, seemingly appearing as character Teddy Perkins from his hit show Atlanta. Check out footage and viewer reactions below.

Having debuted in season two of the show, the evil character is played by Glover himself in Atlanta. Perkins’ appearance was revealed as Bill Hader was announced as the winner for Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, before Glover himself was filmed in the crowd just minutes later without a disguise – leading many to question whether or not it was really him dressed as his alter-ego.

However, a new photo showing Glover posing with Perkins has now been released, making it unclear who was actually dressed as the character. You can see the snap below.

Revealing what to expect from season 3 of Atlanta, Glover has compared it to Kanye West’s ‘Graduation‘.

“I align the seasons, I think, to me, like Kanye records,” he said. “I feel like this is our ‘Graduation’. This is probably our most accessible but also the realest – an honest version of it – and I feel like the most enjoyable, like the third album.”

As well as debuting a new song in New York earlier this week, Glover has also made headlines by suing his former record label – claiming that they owe him $10,000 in streaming royalties.

Meanwhile, Glover will be heading to London as Childish Gambino to perform at The O2 on Sunday November 4. Head here for tickets and information.
