Viewers have responded positively after episode two of the latest season of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia featured the character duration throughout the main plot.
The first episode of season 13, without Glenn Howerton being as integral a part of the cast by reducing his appearance in the series, aired last week – splitting opinion among viewers. The episode followed the gang as they dealt with the exit of Dennis at the end of Season 12, and featured new character Cindy (Mindy Kaling) – a seasoned schemer who is on a mission to transform Paddy’s Pub. Dennis did however, make an appearance towards the end of the episode.
The latest instalment, ‘The Gang Escapes’, focusses around Dee signing them all up for an escape room. As The AV Club reports, “the Gang’s pressure cooker shenanigans lean heavily on some prime Dennis Reynolds lunatic energy and one genuinely disturbing further reveal about the depths of said lunacy”.
Fans took to Twitter to share their delight at the episode, and Dennis’ return:

A synopsis for the new season confirms: “Even without Dennis Reynolds, the Gang has its hands full as Charlie hopes to have a child with The Waitress, Mac sets out to understand his newfound sexuality, Dee takes feminism to new heights, and Frank goes to great lengths for the Gang to experience the greatest moment in Philadelphia sports history – an Eagles Super Bowl victory.”
