‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ unveiled – watch first trailer

First look at the kinky potboiler based on E L James erotic novel

The first feature trailer for the big screen adaption of E L James’ steamy novel ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ has been unveiled and it’s quite saucy.

Following a teaser trailer featuring singer Beyoncé breathily reciting the chorus to Crazy in Love, with the 15-second clip teasing a bedroom door opening, the full trailer is rather more revealing.

The film adaption of E L James’ best selling book is being directed by Sam Taylor Johnson (Nowhere Boy). Starring Jamie Dornan (The Fall) as Sebastian Grey and Dakota Johnson (also cast alongside Johnny Depp and Benedict Cumberbatch in crime drama Black Mass) as Anastasia Steele, James’ erotica phenomenon follows demure student Steele as she falls for the charms of kinky billionaire Grey.

Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam famously walked away from the role of Grey following an online outcry from fans who challenged his suitability for the part. The actor cited scheduling conflicts with his TV work as his real reason for leaving.

Hunnam is “really curious” to see how the film will turn out reports ABC News:

“What [E L James] actually created is a really sophisticated dynamic and presented it in a package which was accessible to people who normally would be terrified of that subject … Actually what she did was pretty brilliant.”

Fifty Shades of Grey is due in cinemas February 2015.
