‘Game of Thrones’ actor Joe Dempsie sparks rumours of a return to the show after being spotted at Belfast airport

Dempsie played Gendry between 2011 and 2013 on the hit HBO show

Joe Dempsie has been photographed arriving at Belfast Airport, sparking fan speculation that his character, Gendry, is set to return in Game of Thrones season 7.

Dempsie played Gendry on the hit HBO show between 2011 and 2013, becoming a season regular during the third season after having a recurring role in the show’s first two seasons. The fate of his character was unknown as the third season concluded.

Game of Thrones fan site Watchers On The Wall has obtained a picture of Dempsie arriving at Belfast Airport recently, with the connection being that much of the show is filmed in Northern Ireland. Other stars of the show, including Iain Glen (Jorah Mormont) and Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth), have also been spotted in Belfast recently, with filming for season seven underway.
