It was Arya Stark (played by Maisie Williams) who ended up getting the honour of killing the villain, and Harington has shared his dismay at missing out.
Speaking as part of new behind the scenes documentary When Winter Falls, Harington said: “I was pissed that it wasn’ t me killing the Night King!
“I would’ve given you…I would’ve bet you thousands,” he continued.
Maisie Williams went on to say that she was “really proud of myself”.
“I’m proud of everyone. I’m proud of the work that was put in… and I was grateful that it was me and not Kit.”
Also in the new documentary, Emilia Clarke pinpointed the moment at which her character Daenerys Targaryen descended into the madness that would define the show’s finale.
George R. R. Martin has also revealed an unusual inspiration for the bloodlust seen across Game Of Thrones – the death of his childhood pet turtles.
Meanwhile, Game of Thrones star Dean-Charles Chapman has suggested the release of a filmed alternate ending to the show could “mend the fans’ hearts” after Kristofer Hivju’s revelation recently that they had shot a second ending to the series.
