‘Game Of Thrones’ Season Five world premiere to be held at Tower of London

A 'host of 'Game Of Thrones' stars' will attend the global premiered on March 18

The world premiere of Game Of Thrones Season Five is to be held at the Tower of London next month (March).

The global premiere will take place at the iconic London landmark on the evening of March 18, with “a host of Game Of Thrones stars in attendance”, Sky Atlantic announced today (February 19). It will be the first time the hit fantasy series has held its world premiere in Europe.

Sky Atlantic is to run a competition offering Game Of Thrones fans the chance to win 25 pairs of tickets to the world premiere. Details of the competition will be announced soon on Sky’s website.

Season Five of Game Of Thrones will then begin on Sky Atlantic on Monday, April 13, the day after it premieres on US premium cable network HBO. Once again, the new season will consist of ten episodes. For the first time, Game Of Thrones author George RR Martin has not written an episode for the forthcoming season, as he is concentrating on completing the sixth novel in his series, The Winds Of Winter.

HBO unveiled nine new cast members for Game Of Thrones Season Five at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2014, including former Bond villain Jonathan Pryce and Oscar-nominated actress Keisha Castle-Hughes.

Meanwhile, former Game Of Thrones star Charles Dance – who played wealthy Lord Tywin Lannister in the first four seasons – has recently revealed that discussions about a potential spin-off film are now underway. A special Game Of Thrones edition of Monopoly has also been announced.
