The actor – who plays Sam Evans in the musical comedy-drama – may return as an occasional guest star, reports Deadline.com.

Street appeared to comment on the news on his Twitter page, Twitter.com/chordoverstreet yesterday (July 2), writing: “Well its been a good yr too bad its over, time for summer and starting fresh.”

According to the report, Darren Criss and Harry Shum Jr have been upgraded to regular cast members for the season, where they will reprise their roles as Blaine Anderson and Mike Chang respectively.

Recurring guest star Ashley Fink‘s role is also expected to be reduced in future episodes of the hit show.

The series is moving to Sky when it returns in the autumn. The previous seasons had been screened on E4 and Channel 4.

The move comes as part of Sky‘s deal to screen all of US network’s HBO‘s output in the UK, including new shows Boardwalk Empire and Game Of Thrones as well as their back catalogue of hits such as The Sopranos and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
