Has the fan theory of how ‘Stranger Things’ and ‘Parks and Recreation’ are connected been confirmed?

Are Steve Harrington and Jean-Ralphio Saperstein actually related?

A popular Stranger Things fan theory claims that the character of Steve Harrington is actually the father of Jean-Ralphio Saperstein from Parks & Recreation – and now Ben Schwartz, who plays Saperstein, has addressed the hypothesis.

Schwartz has appeared in a comedy skit for James Corden’s Late Late Show in which he claims to “confirm” the theory, which is mostly based on the opinion that Saperstein and Harrington look alike and the fact that Stranger Things is set in the 80s, which would make it possible for Harrington to father a child by the Noughties.

“I’m assuming there’s a 100% chance of me being on Stranger Things seasons two through 100,” Schwartz jokes. Watch below.

Season Two of the hit Netflix show has not yet been confirmed but Netflix CEO Reed Hastings recently stated that the streaming service “would be dumb not to” recommission the series.

The creators of Stranger Things, twin brothers Matt and Ross Duffer, recently revealed that the show was rejected between 15 and 20 times by various TV networks before eventually being commissioned by Netflix.

The pair told Rolling Stone that some TV execs didn’t like the idea of having four children as the show’s lead characters when the target audience wasn’t other children.
