HBO reveal first trailer for ‘The Leftovers’ – watch

New show from creator of 'Lost' stars Justin Theroux, Liv Tyler and Christopher Eccleston

HBO have revealed the first full-length trailer for new series The Leftovers.

The series stars Justin Theroux and the teaser you can see below was aired directly after last night’s episode of Game Of Thrones (April 27).

Based on the Tom Perrotta novel of the same name, The Leftovers imagines a world in which 2 percent of the population have been disappeared without explanation, focusing on those who remain on earth and how it affects their lives.

“It’s time again for the world to mourn the departed,” says one character in the trailer, while another adds: “Some bad shit’s coming, and there’s no getting around it. Grace period’s over.” James Blake song ‘Retrograde’ plays throughout.

The Leftovers was created by Damon Lindelof, who previously created Lost. Liv Tyler and former Dr. Who actor Christopher Eccleston also appear in the series, which starts on June 29.
