The world premiere of Season Five takes place in London next Tuesday (March 18)

HBO has released a new trailer for Season Five of Game Of Thrones.

The trailer was unveiled at the launch of the Apple Watch earlier today (March 9), where HBO formally announced its new streaming service, HBO Now, which will be available exclusively through iTunes and Apple TV. It will launch in the US next month (April) in time for the new season of Game Of Thrones, but HBO has yet to confirm plans to roll out the service in other territories including the UK.

The global premiere of Game Of Thrones Season Five is to take place at the Tower of London next Tuesday (March 18) with “a host of Game Of Thrones stars in attendance”. Sky Atlantic is running a competition offering fans the chance to win 25 pairs of tickets to the world premiere. Details of the competition are available on Sky’s website.

Season Five of Game Of Thrones will then begin on Sky Atlantic on Monday, April 13, the day after it premieres on HBO. Once again, the new season will consist of ten episodes. For the first time, Game Of Thrones author George RR Martin has not written an episode for the forthcoming season, as he is concentrating on completing the sixth novel in his series, The Winds Of Winter.

HBO unveiled nine new cast members for Game Of Thrones Season Five at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2014, including former Bond villain Jonathan Pryce and Oscar-nominated actress Keisha Castle-Hughes.
