James Corden: ‘I’d love to interview Kanye West on my talk show’

Corden has hosted 'The Late Late Show' in the US since March

James Corden has revealed that he would love to interview Kanye West on his talk show.

Since he started hosting The Late Late Show With James Corden on CBS in March, Corden has played host to performances from artists including Noel Gallagher, Brandon Flowers and Manic Street Preachers, and interviewed stars including One Direction, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Tom Hanks.

Asked which musical guests he’d like to book next, Corden told NME backstage at the Glastonbury Festival on Saturday (June 27): “I’d love to have The Maccabees on. We quite enjoy getting people on who’ve never been on TV in America before – I’m sure the Maccabees have, but that’s why we put the Manic Street Preachers on. I couldn’t believe they’d never been on an American talk show [before], so I was like, we have to right this wrong immediately.”

Asked how he would feel about booking a rare interview with West, Corden replied: “Are you kidding? Of course! I’d love to have him on, I think he’s amazing, he’s incredible.”

Speaking shortly before West took to the Pyramid Stage for his Saturday night Glastonbury headline set, Corden added: “I hope he plays the hits tonight. Because there’s two Kanyes – one’s amazing, and the other’s just, ah, you could have been amazing.”
