Jamie Dornan and Gillian Anderson to return for third and final series of ‘The Fall’

BBC drama is currently being filmed in Belfast

Jamie Dornan and Gillian Anderson will both reprise their roles in a new series of The Fall.

The third series of the BBC Two drama will also be the last, with Dornan returning from his role in Fifty Shades Of Grey to continue the story of serial killer Paul Spector. Gillian Anderson, meanwhile, will continue to trail him as DSI Stella Gibson.

Colin Morgan returns as DS Tom Anderson alongside series regulars John Lynch (Jim Burns), Valene Kane (Rose Stagg), Emmett J Scanlan (Glenn Martin), Stuart Graham (Matt Eastwood), Bronagh Waugh (Sally Ann Spector) and Aisling Franciosi (Katie Benedetto).

Filming on the series has begun in Belfast, with Humans actress Ruth Bradley joining the show alongside other new cast members Richard Coyle, Krister Henriksson, Aidan McArdle and comedian Aisling Bea.

Series creator and writer Allan Cubitt said: “I’ve been on a very exciting journey over the last five years with Stella Gibson and Paul Spector – the central characters of The Fall – and I’m thrilled to have recently started filming the third instalment of their macabre, obsessive dance of death.”

The Fall first aired in May 2013 and was nominated for both Bafta and National Television Awards. The second series aired in 2014.
