The Office star Jenna Fischer has said that she would be interested in returning for a potential revival of the US show.
The American adaptation of Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant’s British classic, The Office ran for nine seasons from 2005 and 2013, with reports recently suggesting that early talks were taking place about reviving the NBC series.
After two cast members voiced their support for the show’s potential return, Fischer – who played fan favourite Pam Beesly – has revealed that she thinks a revival is a “great idea” but has yet to be approached about reprising her role.
“I think that’s for networks to figure out if I were to be asked,” Fischer said recently. “I haven’t been approached about it and don’t know anything about it… But I love Pam!”
“I think the idea of an Office revival is a great idea,” the star added. “I would be honoured to come back in any way that I am able to. I loved playing that character and as long as [showrunner] Greg Daniels is the person in charge and the visionary behind it, then I would absolutely be up for it.”
“We just have to get Mindy [Kaling], B.J. Novak, Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg, Mike Schur to write some episodes. That show was so great because of the talent involved behind the scenes, not just on the screen.”
Reports of an Office revival recently suggested that lead star Steve Carrell would not be involved in any new edition of the show.
