The scripted series will air on Sky One, though a release date has yet to be confirmed
A first look at Karl Pilkington’s new show Sick Of It has been released – check out the preview clip below.
The actor and comedian has co-written, executively produced and starred in the upcoming series, which will air on Sky One in the UK. An air date has yet to be confirmed, however.
The first trailer for Sick Of It has now emerged, which sees Pilkington star alongside Spider-Man: Homecoming actress Sondra James. Pilkington, however, plays two roles on the show: a fictionalised version of himself, and the voice inside his head, known as Inner Self – see the trailer below.
An official synopsis for the show reads: “The series follows Karl, a middle-aged man recently ditched by his long-term girlfriend, as he muddles through life and attempts to make sense of the modern world.
“Now living with his elderly auntie, Karl’s closest companion is Inner Self; the voice in his head who says what he really thinks without the risk of offending others. As Karl attempts to move on from the break up and sort out his life, the voice in his head appears periodically to guide, criticise and dispense his unorthodox philosophy of life, with some interesting results!”
Richard Yee, who directed Pilkington in An Idiot Abroad, has co-written and directed the new show.
Back in March, Ricky Gervais denied that he had fallen out with Pilkington and Stephen Merchant.
