Katie Hopkins’ TV chat-show axed after one series

An average of 69,000 people watched first series on Discovery’s TLC channel

Katie Hopkins’ TV chat show will not return for a second series, it has been confirmed.

The first series of If Katie Hopkins Ruled The World aired on Discovery’s TLC channel earlier this year. The Guardian reports that just 69,000 people watched the first episode. The series involved Hopkins and guests each proposing a new rule which they felt would improve society and then debating its viability between themselves.

Hopkins’ first rule was that overweight people should pay more for air travel. Guests across the series included Professor Germaine Greer, The Only Way Is Essex‘s Gemma Collins, columnist Liz Jones and comedian Paul Foot.

The series was commissioned after Hopkins documentary My Fat Story proved a ratings hit on TLC. A follow up, Katie Hopkins: Fat Story 1 Year On , will air on TLC on January 2.

Controversial politician Donald Trump recently thanked Hopkins after she backed his recent views on anti-terror tactics. While the comments received widespread criticism, Daily Mail journalist and former Apprentice contestant Hopkins appeared on Fox News to back Trump’s remarks.
