Lady Gaga is to appear as a guest judge on US talent show So You Think You Can Dance.
The singer will join permanent judges Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy on the panel of the dance competition, which is shown on the Fox network.
She has been drafted in by Lythgoe, who is also executive producer, in the hope she will prevent the show’s declining ratings. He said: “Her help is going to be invaluable.”
A spokesperson for the show added: “Lady Gaga will give great advice on how to handle yourself, how to be creative with what you do and how to be a fabulous performer.”
In May this year, Gaga appeared as a guest mentor on American Idol and instructed the four finalists – including eventual winner Scotty McCreery – on how to prepare for the live shows.
She said at the time: “I just want to give them senses of inspiration and confidence. And to help them bring out what’s really special about them.”
