Latest look at Claire Danes in ‘Homeland’ season 4 – watch

Second trailer for Carrie’s Middle East adventure soundtracked by Emily Jane White

A second trailer for Homeland season 4 has been released by TV network Showtime. Soundtracked by Emily Jane White singing ‘Hole in the Middle’ we get a glimpse of Carrie’s dangerous new assignment in the Middle East.

The trailer hypes the intrigue with Saul, now working for Carrie as one of her assets, commenting ominously, “It hasn’t been a 14-year war we’ve been waging, but a one-year war, waged 14 times.”

Saul says they’re up against the “tyranny of secrets” but Carrie calls it “the tyranny of keeping them” as she’s clearly coming to terms with the shady nature of her career.

Emily Jane White’s apt lyrics underscore the tension: “Everybody’s got a little hole in the middle. Everybody does a little dance with the devil.”

The show’s co-creator Alex Gansa has described season 4 as effectively a reboot. Gansa has said it was “like doing another pilot” with Carrie’s CIA adventures taking her to Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Mandy Patinkin, Nazanin Boniadi and Rupert Friend return alongside new cast members Corey Stoll (House of Cards) and Life of Pi star Suraj Sharma.

Homeland season 4 takes a bow across the pond October 5 and is set to return to Channel 4.
