Lynda La Plante reduced This Morning presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby to laughter earlier today with an unfortunate slip of the tongue.
The award-winning screenwriter was discussing an exchange between two characters in Tennison, her upcoming Prime Suspect prequel series, when she accidentally said “tint and a blow job” instead of “tint and a blow dry”.
Though La Plante barely acknowledged her gaffe, Schofield and Willoughby were unable to hide their amusement and struggled to keep a straight face as the screenwriter continued talking. Watch a clip of La Plante’s slip-up below.

After the show had gone off air, La Plante took to Twitter to apologise for her unfortunate slip of the tongue, saying: “I meant blow dry! Sorry!”
OK @Schofe @hollywills I meant BLOW DRY! Sorry! You two are so welcoming, thank you for a fun interview! #LyndaLaPlante #Tennison

Willoughby responded graciously, tweeting back at La Plante: “You never know what’s going to trip you up in a show!!! We giggled for a long time after! X”
