Joan Harris actress joins Luke Wilson and Rafe Spall in the hour-long pilot
Mad Men star Christina Hendricks has been cast in Roadies, a forthcoming US TV comedy from Almost Famous and Pearl Jam Twenty director Cameron Crowe.
Written and directed by Crowe, with JJ Abrams on board as an executive producer, Roadies will follow the day-to-day life of a fictional hit rock tour through the eyes of its crew members. According to Deadline, Hendricks will play Shelli, the band’s tough, private and scarily professional production manager.
Hendricks joins an impressive cast that already includes Luke Wilson, Rafe Spall (Black Mirror), Peter Cambor (NCIS: Los Angeles) and Keisha Castle-Hughes (The Walking Dead). Crowe is due shoot the show’s hour-long pilot, which has been ordered by US premium cable network Showtime (Dexter, The Big C, Nurse Jackie), in Vancouver early next year.
Meanwhile, Hendricks will reprise her popular role as Joan Harris when Mad Men returns for the second half of its final season next spring.
