Mad Men’s Jon Hamm: ‘I own four eagles’

The man behind Don Draper refuses to give away any details about series five of the ad agency drama

Mad Men star Jon Hamm has revealed in a new interview that he owns four eagles.

According to the piece in Esquire, he owns one each of four different species of eagle: golden, tawny, Spanish Imperial and short-toed snake.

The piece goes on to say that every day an assistant apparently feeds the eagles and then decides which one looks most like Hamm, and puts it on the perch on the far left.

Earlier this week it was revealed that Paul McCartney will not be making a cameo in US television show Mad Men, despite reports.

After contractual negotiations took the show off air in 2011, Mad Men‘s fifth series begins in the US on March 25, with the UK premiere expected shortly after. In the interview with Esquire, Hamm, who plays advertising agency lothario Don Draper, refused to give away any details about what the new season has in store, saying: “I can’t tell you anything. I can’t tell anyone. None of us can.”
