Matt Czuchry to reprise role of Logan in ‘Gilmore Girls’ revival

New episodes of the US TV show have been commissioned by Netflix

The Good Wife actor Matt Czuchry will reprise his role as Logan in the upcoming Gilmore Girls revival.

The cult US TV show will return for four 90-minute episodes on streaming service Netflix, with the show’s creator Amy Sherman-Palladino previously stating that casting is still being finalised.

The news of Czuchry’s involvement was first reported by TVLine and confirmed by Entertainment Weekly.

Czuchry portrayed Logan Huntzberger, boyfriend of main character Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel), from Season Five to the show’s final seventh season. It has not been revealed how many episodes Logan will appear in.

Sherman-Palladino previously said that she wanted all three of Rory’s past boyfriends to appear in the new episodes. The other two are Jess, played by Milo Ventimiglia, and Dean, portrayed by Jared Padalecki.

Meanwhile, star Melissa McCarthy has said she wasn’t asked to return to the Gilmore Girls reboot. McCarthy, who played chef Sookie, responded to a fan on Twitter asking her to return to the show.

McCarthy wrote: “Thanks for the invite, but sadly no one asked me or Sookie to come back to Stars Hollow. Wish them all the best!!”

Original cast members Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Paterson, Kelly Bishop, Sean Gunn and Keiko Agena have already been confirmed to be part of the show’s revival.
