Six-part mini-series will premiere on NBC on September 24
NBC has released a haunting new teaser trailer for its Heroes Reborn mini-series.
The network has also announced that the six-part mini-series will premiere this autumn on Thursday, September 24. At present, it is not known when or on what channel the mini-series will air in the UK.
Created by Tim Kring, the original Heroes ran for four seasons on NBC between 2006 and 2010. Kring is also steering the new mini-series as show-runner and keeping storyline details tightly under wraps. A plot synopsis for Heroes: Reborn teases: “The saga behind the 2006 breakout series Heroes will continue as creator Tim Kring returns to the fold and develops new layers to his original superhero concept.
“This highly anticipated 13-episode miniseries will reconnect with the basic elements of the show’s first season where ordinary people were waking up to the fact that they had extraordinary abilities. This series will be preceded by a new digital series that will introduce audiences to the new characters and storylines that will take the Heroes phenomenon to new places.”
Greg Grunberg, who played mind-reading cop Matt Parkman in the original show, recently became the fourth Heroes veteran to sign up for the forthcoming mini-series, following Jack Coleman’s Noah Bennet/HRG, Jimmy Jean-Louis’s ‘The Haitian’ and Masi Oka’s Hiro Nakamura. New cast members for Heroes Reborn include Chuck‘s Zachary Levi, Step Up‘s Ryan Guzman and Once Upon A Time‘s Robbie Kay.
