A series of new photos have emerged from the second season of Killing Eve – and it looks like Villanelle is out to seek revenge on the eponymous hero.
The acclaimed thriller ended its first season in dramatic fashion, with Villanelle being stabbed by Eve after their cat-and-mouse chase brought them together for the first time.
But if the first photos are anything to go by, we should expect a dramatic fallout from those events. In one snap, we see Eve looking visibly distressed as she sits in a bath to wash away the memories of her encounter with Villanelle.
Unsurprisingly, Villanelle isn’t quite as affected. Instead, she is seen beckoning down a cab – which makes us wonder if she’s heading straight to wreak revenge on the titular hero.
So far, it’s been confirmed that both Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh will return as Villanelle and Eve respectively. They’ll be joined by the majority of the stars from the first season – including Fiona Shaw as the MI6’s head of the Russian Desk, Carolyn Martens, and Kim Bodnia as Villanelle’s handler Konstantin.
It’s also been confirmed that the show will air on April 8 in the US, although a UK airdate is yet to be revealed.
When delivering the Steve Hewlett Memorial Lecture 2018 the BBC’s Director of Content Charlotte Moore announced: “I’m pleased to say that we’re not going to have to wait quite so long next time [for season two]. It’s back on the BBC next year for season two.”
