Peaky Blinders will continue for series six and seven, creator Steven Knight has confirmed.
Some viewers had feared that the upcoming fifth series of Peaky Blinders would be the last, but now it looks like there’s much more to come – as well as a ballet interpretation of the show.
“We are definitely doing [series] six and we will probably do seven,” Knight told Birmingham Press Club, Evening Standard reports. “After series four it went mad.
“We’ve talked to [lead actor] Cillian Murphy and he’s all for it, and the rest of the principal cast are in for it.”
As for the ballet, Knight added: “I had a meeting with Ballet Rambert who want to do Peaky Blinders – The Ballet. I’m saying ‘why not?’”
Speaking of the potential plotline of upcoming series, Knight has previously said: “I want it to end with the first air raid siren in Birmingham in the Second World War, so that will be the start of the next chapter in British history. It’s that period.”
A Peaky Blinders movie has also been rumoured for some time, while a stage musical of the programme is also in the works.
