The Good Morning Britain host’s sit-down with the Commander-in-Chief drew a mixed response online after it aired last night (January 28) in the UK. The two figures have both been nominated in the Villain of the Year category at this year’s V05 NME Awards.
The interview has attracted a steady stream of jokes and parodies since airing, with one notable example coming from Twitter user Jesse McLaren, who utilised a famous scene from The Simpsons in sending up Trump and Morgan.
McLaren kept footage from Morgan’s interview in the clip, but replaced the audio with a large snippet of the dialogue from the infamous “steamed hams” scene in the 1996 Simpsons episode ’22 Short Films About Springfield‘. The scene has become a popular meme among fans of the show in recent years.
The resultant clip shows Morgan ‘speaking’ Principal Skinner’s lines from the scene, while Trump is cast in the role of the exasperated Superintendent Chalmers. Watch the clip – complete with Aurora Borealis discussion – below.
