Race row threatens to erupt on second day of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’

The new series began on Thursday (July 28)

A race row has already threatened to erupt on the new series of Celebrity Big Brother, despite the show being only two days into its current run.

Contestants James Whale and Saira Khan were involved in a heated argument after entering the house when Khan began discussing allegations of racism she’d read against Whale.

“I’ve never heard so much rubbish in my entire life,” said the radio host, who blamed a caller who had made racist comments on his show for the allegations.

“I don’t think I am known for that. Am I known for that? I don’t know. I really don’t know. I’ve been one of the judges of the British Curry Awards for 10 years,” he continued.

As Digital Spy reports, Whale complained to other housemates about being labelled a racist to which Khan responded: “I did not say that. Excuse me sir… I didn’t say that, so don’t twist it.”

Eventually, the pair decided to leave the argument and continue with the competition.
