Frontman also says he wants to perform with Kaiser Chiefs on Simon Cowell's talent show
Ricky Wilson has admitted he can see himself transferring from The Voice to rival talent show The X Factor.
The Kaiser Chiefs frontman announced his departure from The Voice last November as it emerged the show was moving from the BBC to ITV. “They would want to have a totally new show,” he said of the new channel, adding that he wanted to “bow out gracefully”.
However, now Wilson has revealed that he can see himself appearing on ITV’s next series of The X Factor. “I’d do judges’ houses with Nicole,” he told the Daily Mirror. “And if Simon would have Kaiser Chiefs on The X Factor performing, I’d love that.”
Meanwhile, Kaiser Chiefs have recently returned with ‘Parachute’, the first single from their forthcoming sixth album, ‘Stay Together’, which was announced last month (June). It’s the band’s follow-up to ‘Education, Education, Education & War’, which reached Number One in 2014.
The band have collaborated with MNEK on the new album, as well as with Brian Higgins, the pop songwriter-producer who is known for his work with Girls Aloud, Franz Ferdinand, Sugababes and Cher. Wilson has said of the band’s new album: “When we finished writing the last record we realised that the most important thing to everyone is what’s going on in their lives. Their ‘personal politics’ and that’s what this album is about.”
