Ahmed was a guest on last night's (December 7) episode of 'The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon'
Riz Ahmed performed a freestyle rap about Star Wars during his appearance on last night’s (December 7) episode of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
The London-born actor and musician, who will appear in the forthcoming Star Wars anthology film Rogue One, was challenged by the eponymous host to take on the rapping challenge.
Given three words – in this case, all Star Wars-themed – Ahmed, backed by Fallon’s house band The Roots, then performed a short freestyle that incorporated the words ‘Yoda’, ‘Darth Vader’ and, most difficultly of all, ‘Lando Calrissian’.

Ahmed will play Bodhi Rook in the upcoming Rogue One film, which is set to be released next week (December 16). Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the first in Disney’s planned ‘Anthology Series’ of spin-off films set in the sci-fi universe. The series will continue with the currently untitled Han Solo prequel movie, which is due in 2018.
Rogue One, meanwhile, will have its premiere in Los Angeles this weekend, where a replica X-Wing Fighter jet from the film has been set up in Hollywood ahead of the main event.
Ahmed has also been selected as one of NME‘s people of the year. Read about why he’s 2016’s hardest working polymath here.
