RZA wants to play a gold-fanged vampire in ‘What We Do In The Shadows’

The TV version of the cult 2014 film debuted last month

RZA has revealed that he wants a part in the new TV version of What We Do In The Shadows.

The rapper and de facto Wu-Tang Clan leader has set his sights on making a cameo on the FX show, which is based on the 2014 comedy film of the same name and debuted its first season late last month.

Speaking to EW, RZA said that he’d been impressed by the trailer for What We Do In The Shadows and that he has designs on making an appearance on the show – despite not having seen an episode of the new series.

“The trailer was very funny, but I haven’t watched the episode yet,” RZA said. “I’d better pop in there and bite somebody. I’ll show up with the gold fangs, right? Instead of regular vampire fangs, I’ll have the grill!”

RZA will soon appear in Jim Jarmusch’s star-studded zombie film The Dead Don’t Die, and recently scored and starred in the Netflix movie Thriller. He told EW that he was “a big fan” of the horror genre, and jumped at the chance to work with “one of my favourite directors” in Jarmusch.

“You know, my first time on a movie screen was in a Jim Jarmusch film, on Ghost Dog,” he said. “I think I was on camera for like 12 seconds but I’ll never forget that. And it was my appearance in Coffee and Cigarettes that got me noticed as an actor by other Hollywood directors, that led to my role in Derailed and American Gangster.

“So, you know, if Jim calls, RZA responds.”
