‘Sin City 2’ will be “100 times better” says Robert Rodriguez

Red band trailer released for 'Sin City: A Dame to Kill For'

Robert Rodriguez showcased a first look at the follow up to Sin City (his 2005 collaboration with graphic novel legend Frank Miller) at Comic-Con, telling fans the sequel Sin City: A Dame to Kill For would be a massive improvement.

Rodriguez said: “The first film was very early for green screen… People knew what they were going to do this time. The performances are 10 times, 100 times better.”

Rodriguez described the Fusion cameras he used on his latest film as being “like Ferraris” compare to the heavy 3D cameras from a decade ago.

“Co-directors Rodriguez and Miller reunite… Weaving together two of Miller’s classic stories with new tales, the town’s most hard boiled citizens cross paths with some of its more notorious inhabitants.”

Josh Brolin (No Country For Old Men) plays the physically altered Dwight ( Clive Owen in the first film) whose life spirals out of control when he’s hunted down by Ava Lord (Eva Green) the “Goddess who makes slaves of men” and the only woman he ever loved.

The “rotten town” also features Lady Gaga, the returning Jessica Alba (Nancy), Bruce Willis (Hartigan), Rosario Dawson (Gail) and Mickey Rourke (Marv) alongside Jeremy Piven (Entourage), Ray Liotta (Good Fellas), Powers Boothe (TV’s Nashville), Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Looper) and Juno Temple (Killer Joe). Jamie Chung and Jeremy Piven replace Devon Aoki and Michael Madsen.

A heavily stylized red band trailer has been released online.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For will hit cinemas August 22nd.
